Gibson '54 Les Paul Custom reissue black beauty, rare model with Alnico V P90, with the original Gibson case, near mint

The '54 Les Paul Custom reissues are the hardest LP reissues to find, as they made the least of these, and you will not find a cleaner one on the planet.  I don't think that Gibson is still making these. Extremely beautiful '54 which is in gorgeous condition. No wear whatsoever other than a few extremely tiny and insignificant handling marks that only black lacquer would show. Finish is like glass!

Here's Gibson's description of this axe:

"The Alnico V pickup was designed in 1952 by Seth Lover and Walt Fuller for Gibson to succeed the P-90 pickup on several of Gibson's distinguished archtop jazz hollowbodies, most famously the L5 CES, ES-5, and Byrdland guitars. Similar to the P-90 in appearance, the Alnico V is easily recognized by its distinctive rectangular pole pieces. It gets its name from the stronger Alnico V magnets, while each coil has 10,000 turns of 42-gauge wire to achieve its clear, round, ringing sound. It made its debut on a solidbody Gibson in the Fretless Wonder of 1954; the Les Paul Custom, or Black Beauty."

Plays great with low, comfortable action.  Apologize for the lousy pics, but black is a tough color to photograph. This thing is like a Steinway in its beauty and tone and figured prominently on my latest cd with Mambo Sons entitled "Racket of Three" (and this guitar is pictured on the cover) - SOLD

1980's Rare Bond Electraglide Guitar - all accessories

1980's vintage Bond Electraglide Guitar, with preamp, all cords, original hardshell case with keys, original straplocks, and complete set of manuals. This is the guitar popularized by Mick Jones of The Clash and The Edge of U2. A bit of history, the Bond Electraglide was a carbon fiber electric guitar manufactured by Bond Guitars between 1984 and 1985. It has 3 pickups and features a unique stepped aluminum fingerboard (anodized black) instead of traditional frets. Pickup switching, volume and tone controls were completely digital, powered by a large internal motherboard.

The player can select pickups via five pushbuttons; volume, treble and bass were incremented numerically via digital rocker switches, confirmed by a three-color (or should I say "colour") LED readout (see pic). This guitar can get the most wicked out-of-phase tone that I ever heard. Very funky! Of interest to the collector: This guitar comes complete with the original external power supply pack (which is setup for U.S. operation but can handle UK), all cords and the complete owners manual, and the original straplocks and original case with the original keys.

This particular Bond is in excellent shape, with moderate wear on the fingerboard. Only about 1000 units were ever manufactured before the company ceased operations in 1986. Everything works fine as it should on this collectible instrument. SOLD
