THE ORIGINS OF MAMBO SONS

Mambo Sons is Tom Guerra and Scott Lawson, friends and musical partners-in-crime for over two decades. The duo first met in 1981 (see pic below) and were united by a goal to perform original rock & roll and blues. 

Taking their name from the old T. Rex song "Mambo Sun", the duo created the band as an avenue to write and perform original rock & roll music.  To date, Mambo Sons have released three cds: 1999's "Mambo Sons", 2002's "Play Some Rock & Roll!", named by NYRock magazine as a top indie release of the year, and 2005's "Racket of Three".
